- In 1969 my parents purchased a color television so as to better watch the Apollo mission land a human on the moon. The launch of Apollo 11 is one of my earliest memories. I believe the importance my parents placed on the event, as well as the amazing nature of the event itself inspired my life-long interest in science, exploration and technology.
