Description
ksld was formed in 1989 and based in Edinburgh, the international design team has established a reputation for the delivery of quality lighting design solutions for architecture, exteriors, museums and exhibitions. This has been recognised in awards, election of team members to the International Association of Lighting Designers, the European Lighting Designers Association and the Lighting Society and finally and most significantly, in continuing relationships with key clients over numerous projects.
The practice provides professional advice on lighting. This can range from specialist reports on aspects of exisiting schemes to full lighting design from concept to comissioning. We prepare fee proposals to suit the requirements of specific projects and clients. We do not supply lighting equipment however we have in-house facilities for prototyping light fittings.
The team members have published a number of articles and delivers talks on aspects of lighting, specifically in relation to work in museums and the crossover between architectural lighting and theatrical lighting. The practise is committed to lighting education providing student placement, lecturing and training courses.
