KCYMF is a non-profit corporation that is dedicated to enriching the lives of youth in Kern County. What began as an idea nine (9) years ago, is now a reality for over 100 students in Kern County. KCYMF is a non-profit charitable organization, dedicated to providing youth services and promoting educational enhancement.
What we do...
KCYMF offers after-school music programs for youth in Kern County. As a charitable organization, KCYMF provides college scholarships to graduating Kern County youth.
Programs Offered
KCYMF offers after school programming to youth in a number of Kern County communities, including Bakersfield, Arvin/Lamont, Shafter/Wasco, and McFarland/Delano. KCYMF uses an innovative approach to ensuring that our youth remain drug and alcohol-free by engaging them in activities that focus on enriching their cultural awareness, their musical skills, and promoting higher education. KCYMF understands that a sense of belonging and a sense of connectedness with ones culture deters youth from engaging in harmful activities. Thus, by providing students with alternative activities during after school hours - the times when youth are most likely getting into trouble - KCYMF ensures that our youth have access to a brighter future.
