- What is a sex addiction? . . . Sexual addiction can involve a wide variety of activities. Sometimes an addict has trouble with just one unwanted behavior, sometimes there are many. A large number of sex addicts find their unwanted sexual behaviors become progressively unmanageable and consuming over time. It may have started with an addiction to masturbation, pornography (either printed or electronic), or a relationship, but over the years has progressed to increasingly dangerous and damaging behaviors.
