Description
Alexander Kedrin, who now resides in the United States, was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, in 1940, in a family of artists and poets. From 1957 to 1965 he studied at Binkov Art College and Ostrowsky Art Institute. Alexander is famous not only for his paintings but also for his three-dimensional reliefs and sculptures, which enliven the atmosphere of numerous castles, metro stations, cultural retreats and theaters trhoughout the former Soviet Union. For over 40 years now, Alexander has been a regular participant in many international exhibitions and competitions. His works are executed in style of mystical, abstract romanticism. Alexander is a member of the Artists' Union and the Architects' Union. He considers Miro, Kandinski, and Gaudi as his teachers. In 1960 Alexander participated in the first exhibition of non-conformist artists in Tashkent. Since then he has participated in more than 100 exhibits and shows around the world.
