The Branch Library houses a collection of children’s books, as well as a smaller adult collection of books and magazines. In addition, there is a computer available for Internet access or word processing. The Branch Library is located at 759 Kearny Avenue. The telephone number is (201) 955-7988.
To get a free library card, you must live, work or go to school in Kearny. Proof of address (in the form of a driver's license, postmarked mail, etc.) and identification are required. For a child's card, proof of address in the name of the parent or guardian is required. There is a non-resident fee of $20.00 per year for persons who are not Kearny residents.
Up to 20 books may be checked out. These are checked out for 2 weeks and may be renewed twice, if they are not overdue or on reserve. There is a limit of 3 books on any single subject.
