Title

Follow Keith Bellamy on his travels throughout the British Isles

Description

I lived at number 22 Broxley Road until I was 12 years old. The schools that I attended were, Beechwood Road and Chalney schools. The last couple of years of schooling were at Surrey Street . Because of having two brothers, we needed a larger house. We moved to number 81 Bolingbroke Road at Farley Hill. My final report from school read " Keith can be relied upon to complete any given task". I've always tried to achieve that.

We had a craze when I was about 9 years old of getting all of our friends and their parents to sign an autograph book. Betty Watsons' mum wrote "Be a man my son and you will find life's game is easily won". I've never forgotten that either. My childhood friends were Jean and Joan Whitcombe, Billy Lewis, Peter Munday, Mavis and Jessie Brown, Michael Froggat and later in time, Dick Payne, Dave Price and John Deacon. Childhood games we played were "Milktops", Fag Cards, Hopskotch and Spit and Hop. At 14 years old a big thrill was having a fag and sneaking in through the "Exit" door of the cinema. A pantomime I saw starred Eddie Calvert (Cherry Pink & Apple-Blossom White) and his golden trumpet.
