I have been interested in user experience since I first started helping my parents use their computers back in 7th grade. 10 years later I graduated with a Masters in Human-Computer Interaction from Carnegie Mellon University, where I also earned my Bachelors degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, and Cognitive Science.
My career has provided me with a broad and deep background in technology, behavioral science, and user-centered design, as well as a deep concern for the usability of consumer products. I've written both web servers and web pages, conducted many studies ranging from think-alouds and surveys to formal experiments, and done research for such companies as Texas Instruments, Kodak, and IBM. I joined Macromedia as a Usability Specialist in 2004.
Originally from San Diego, CA, I've studied and traveled extensively in France. Perhaps as a result, I enjoy cooking, fine food, fine wines, and fine beers. Never content to concentrate on just one or two areas, I also enjoy photography, music, books, and film.
