Kate specializes in ‘custom-made, one-off pieces’ designed with the input and guidance of the customer and created with a special emphasis on sustainable practices.
All work is personally ‘handmade’ by Kate Shore in her private jewellery studio in Melbourne. You can be guaranteed of impeccable quality from a respected Australian jewellery designer.
Kate Shore began her love for handmade jewellery in 2001 when she worked with a local Jeweller in NSW. In 2005 she joined the Melbourne jewellery scene and commenced an apprenticeship at a traditional jewellery manufacturer’s workshop. Here Kate worked making a range of bridal and diamond jewellery, which allowed her to develop a solid foundation of traditional jewellery making skills.
At the end of 2007 she completed her formal ‘Certificate of Engineering in Jewellery Manufacture’ and was awarded the WorkCo Limited Young Apprentice of the Year.
In 2008 Kate began working at Small Space jewellery store, where she worked making more contemporary and unusual silver and gold jewellery. Here she was able to develop her contemporary skills and style and expand her knowledge of gemstones and materials.
In early 2009 Kate became her own boss when she created her own label ‘Kate Shore Jewellery’.
