Description
The Edmond Amateur Radio Society is an active organization dedicated to the time-honored tradition of Amateur Radio operating. EARS has received national recognition for its activities as an Amateur Radio club. It is a Special Service Club as designated by the American Radio Relay League (ARRL). This designation is given to the top Amateur Radio clubs in the United States.
Repeater - The Club maintains a 2-meter repeater on the frequency of 147.135+. The antenna is located over 400 ft. high on the tower at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond. This is an open repeater and all Amateur Radio operators are encouraged to use it. There is a Club UHF repeater on 443.425+ for members only. It is used as a weather link to Northwest Oklahoma when conditions warrant. There is also an Autopatch available for Club members as well.
Club Station - EARS has a club station located 28 E. Main in Edmond where it maintains several HF stations under the call K5EOK. Feel free to stop by the station during a net or a normally scheduled meeting.
