Judy Reinen's colourful, zany images of cats and dogs are recognised around the world these days, achieving acclaim and international awards. This year Judy is to be featured on nationwide TV in the USA. In 1999 her range of Hallmark greeting cards was recognised with a prestigious "Henry" award by the UK greeting card industry organisation and Judy was named "Pet Photographer of the Millenium" by popular Australian magazine, Pets and Vets.
Achieving a photographic career studded with highlights on the international stage comes almost as a surprise to Judy, whose ambition growing up in Auckland, New Zealand was to become a vet. However, it is not as surprising when you know that she is the daughter of a scenic photographer!
Judy has photography in her blood. She had a camera in her hands at a very early age and learned the concept of taking beautiful photographic images that could be applied to different products from her father. The skills developed have proved an inspiration for Judy's own work as her images now appear on products as diverse as stationary and calendars to bed linen through international licensing arrangements.
