About Us

Founded in 1973 the Jakarta Offshore Sailing Club is a club designed to promote and encourage participation in keel boat sailing races and ocean cruises in Indonesia and Jakarta . The members include 20 boat owners and most of the boats are located in PANTAI MUTIARA HARBOR. All members of JOSC can cruise on JOSC boats in day-races held generally twice monthly (SEE CALENDAR EVENTS) . The club is very social in nature and all are welcome we welcome people who wants to sail and the first times membership is not required. We meet generally every Tuesday prior to a race at 8.00pm, to talk sailing and prepare for the next week's race or cruise. (for exact dates and place please check the page NEXT EVENTS. Should you not be able to come to the Tuesday evening meetings please send a little email to the commodore who will try to find a place as crew on one of the boats of the club. We also assist others in the sailing community to buy, build, store, moor or repair their sailboats. JOSC is also very proud to participate at other events about sailing in Indonesia. Although currently most of our activities are located in the Jakarta bay we hope in the near future to organize events that extend over week-ends.
