J. Markowitz, Consultants is a sole proprietorship founded in 1990 by Dr. Judith A. Markowitz for the purpose of promoting the development of creative and profitable applications of speech recognition, speaker verification and identification, natural language understanding.
Judith A. Markowitz, Ph.D., is an acknowledged expert in voice biometrics (speaker verification and identification) and speech recognition. She is also known for her pioneering research on knowledge representation for on-line dictionaries. Dr. Markowitz is the founder of J. Markowitz, Consultants and is an Associate Editor of Speech Technology Magazine. She is also on the Advisory Board of the International Biometric Industry Association and on the Editorial Review Board of the International Journal of Speech Technology.
She has published two books and more than 50 articles. She has been invited to speak, chair panels, and present tutorials at many conferences. In addition to publishing Voice ID Quarterly newsletter and writing a regular column for Speech Technology Magazine Dr. Markowitz. is the author of the highly acclaimed book, Using Speech Recognition, and the only detailed market analysis of voice biometrics in existence, Voice ID: Applications and Markets for the New Millennium.
