J.L. DI-COAT CO. derived from an established family business bought in 1980 as a metal finishing business. In 1990 the second generation stepped in and took control. In the years following, the new management went after chromate conversion and resin impregnation lines to grow the company. Sales went up by 30%. Also in the following years, J.L. DI-COAT sought and achieved 9001-2000 ISO certification. Also achieved was a hexavalent free conversion coating called trivalent chromate.
