About
If there is a category of people photography called performance portraiture then that is what I like to do. And, within that, at present it is mainly music. I can't play a note myself, so instead I listen and I watch. These galleries record what I see.
I try to capture moments that mean something to my clients: their moments, seen by me but belonging to them. I give them back usually in monochrome. That seems to work for images that people want to keep.
My work often involves the creation of a reportage journal depicting a subject's passion: for music, for drama, for sport or for (pretty much) whatever else they like to do. But, sometimes, it is just people – simply on their own and at ease - that result in portraits that endure. I have made a quick tour gallery to show a cross section of my work and have tried to explain some of the ideas behind the pictures.
