Having first picked up a camera at an early age and a few years later at the age of 13 purchasing a Practica super TL, I have always strived to control the many variables that go to create great photographs.
Often when I am on a shoot I am aware of what photographs I am going to get but also there is an organic nature to photography where almost every time I work something will start to happen that is both exciting and unexpected. I am always looking and framing, and trying to see with new eyes using the skills and experience that I have developed since first using a camera.
Most of my photography is set in peopled environments. I initially used to photograph candid street scenes influenced by the likes of Cartier-Bresson and Robert Frank. From here I moved into theatre photography. The combination of these skills is ideal for shooting reportage at weddings and for corporate events. Nowadays my commercial client base is increasingly involved with design agencies looking for lifestyle images and work based images for rebranding, websites and corporate literature.
