Description

Jennifer Tullock is an actor, writer, satirist, and maker of things. Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, Jennifer spent the better part of her childhood on an exhaustive search for Barbra Streisand, who she then believed to be her biological mother. Following the devastating revelation that this was not in fact true, she focused her energies on the rigorous study of MGM musical trivia and slavic linguistics. Jennifer traveled to Ethiopia at the age of 17, where she first became fascinated with weaving and twine art, an experience which would greatly influence her work as a sculptor. (It was also during this time that she discovered goat milk, and maintains an offer of $5 to anyone who can find her a decent batch in Brooklyn.) She has worked as a farm hand, gallery manager, puppeteer, dialect coach, jazz singer, greenhouse supervisor, and clown.

Ms. Tullock recieved her BFA from Millikin University in 2006, and has since been working in Chicago and New York as a performer and artist. Her writing has been featured in Creative Communications, the Kentucky Writing Cabinet, Collage, and Chicago's Tangy Pepper, where she worked as Chief Editor until 2006.

As a performer, she has worked in various venues throughout Poland and the U.S., including Lincoln Center, Second City, and much to her neighbors' chagrin, her front stoop. Her one woman show Fabulous! the Search for an American Icon completed a run at Chicago's Oracle Theatre in October of 2007.

Ms. Tullock continues to explore new mediums as a visual and performance artist, and is currently at work on a piece she describes as a "fictional espionage subway slideshow". The piece is set to be shown in New York in late 2008.

She lives in Brooklyn.
