Jed, born James E. Deutschman, moved from Cherokee County, Kansas to Arizona at an early age. He attended both the University of Arizona and Northern Arizona University, majoring in engineering. Upon completing his formal education, Jed found himself unable to resist his continuing fascination with the art and culture of Arizona and launched himself into the full time pursuit of smithing precious metals and stone into jewelry immediately identified as being indigenous to Arizona.
