- I am a freelance writer and photographer specializing in dogs and gardens. I graduated from Purdue University with a degree that had nothing to do with writing or photography. My husband Terry and I moved to VA in 1979 and started a tree nursery. I have always enjoyed photography and when I switched to slide film, I began to sell photo essays to gardening magazines. I found writing to be a good way to package my images. When our oldest son left for college we got a JRT puppy named Molly and I started photographing dogs and writing for dog magazines. My work has appeared in Browntrout, Willow Creek Press, Reiman Publication and Petprints calendars. My articles have been in Woman’s Day, Woman’s Day Special Interest Publications, Dog Fancy, Popular Dogs, and other national magazines. I am a member of Dog Writers Association of America and Garden Writers Association of America.
