Description
JCDecaux was established in 1964 in France by Jean-Claude Decaux. Since building the first bus shelter sponsored by advertising, the group has grown to be a world leader in outdoor advertising. Now, the company operates more than 700,000 advertising displays across 3,500 cities in 45 different countries. The company is still family owned, but successfully completed its IPO on Euronext Paris in June 2001.
JCDecaux has been present in the United Kingdom since the early eighties and has the exclusive or dominant contract in the major cities and key conurbations across the UK. JCDecaux products can be seen in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Plymouth, Hull, Bradford, Sheffield, Nottingham, Stoke and many other towns and cities covering the main hubs across the country. Our sites give a substantial presence in economically-important areas and major towns.
In July 1999 the company acquired Mills & Allen and Sky Sites as part of the take-over of Havas Media Communications, providing it with two well known companies in the UK in the billboard and airport advertising markets.
