- I’m Janet Dreifus and this is the realization of my dream, the thing I want to do before I die. Unfortunately that is likely to be sooner rather than later, I have a terminal breast cancer diagnosis. It slowly dawned on me that my personal mission in life is to leave a place better than I found it: trails, streets, apartments, houses, neighborhoods, jobs, even public restrooms; without sacrificing joy, pleasure and fun. As I considered my own mortality I realized that I hadn’t yet made a real difference when it came to the planet.
