We first started on this venture several years ago in the year 2000. At first it was more of a part-time hobby, offering some of the interesting items we had brought back from Vietnam to be auctioned on eBay. At that time about the only thing that could be found on eBay related to Vietnam was war related trinkets, and an occasional vintage doll that had been brought back by someone who had been in the military during their tour there. Either way, the real treasures that were abundant in Vietnam were essentially unknown to most in this country. As a result, we quickly developed a solid customer base of individuals who were looking for unique Asian artwork, and who enjoyed the beauty that the artists of Vietnam had to offer.
As time went on, we decided to expand beyond the eBay community, and in 2001, we officially opened our website, aptly named after Jade (my wife). Though it was a real learning experience, we slowly made our way through the endless maze of e-commerce business, and started to expand our presence on the Internet. In addition, we also continued to expand our inventory, and by 2002, we were offering a wide selection of collectible dolls, silk paintings, wood carvings, and a variety of small gift items. In addition to this, in late 2002, we decided to further expand our offerings to include our select blends of Vietnamese coffee.
