The Developer Network began life at Limerick University in 2001 and in 2002 expanded nationally. In January 2003 it was rebranded The Irish Developer Network and officially launched during ICT Expo '03 at the RDS, Dublin.

Our goal is to become the primary communications channel to the estimated 15,000 developers in Ireland. We currently have over 1,650 members.

IrishDev is language and platform neutral, encouraging developers from Cobol through to the latest J2EE, .NET 2 and Web 2.0 technologies.
