Title

Ireco: Pistachio Nuts Producer in Luxembourg

Description

For IRECO the pistachio is more than a mere nut. It is a delicacy, which for thousands of years, has been the reflection of culture and refinement. The pistachio is the “growing reputation” of Ireco.

Abbas Rafii, the president, was born in Iran as the second son and last child of Ali Akbar Rafii who had created and owned large pistachio plantations in Rafsanjan, Iran. In 1971 Abbas Rafii established IRECO in Luxembourg with the aim of introducing pistachios into the European market, which were largely unknown to the European population at that time. IRECO relies upon its 90-year-old-tradition of pistachio cultivation in the country of origin and its production experience since 1971 in Europe. Since its inception the company now has a roasting capacity of approximately 5 tons an hour. The success of this operation resulted in the expansion and moving of the company, on four occasions. The present plant in Steinsel encompasses 37.000 square feet and is going to go through further expansion in the near future.

Its, capacity, know-how, and generations of experience ensures IRECO's ability to continue producing fine quality nuts. After over 30 years of contacts and sales IRECO has become a reference for the pistachio business, such that every major company in Europe, which intends to purchase pistachios makes an inquiry with IRECO. IRECO is the first pistachio company to establish itself in Europe and it has become an important reference in the EU and beyond its borders for pistachios.
