Owned and operated by Andrew & Marg Thonemann, Christian Communication Services commenced in early 1999, then trading as a recruitment organisation based in Melbourne Australia known as 'Interlink Consulting'. Interlink Consulting provided specialised recruiting services and management consulting to a number of Australia's leading financial institutions and multinationals in Australia.

It was Andrew & Marg's Christian faith and involvement in Church that drew them into helping fellow Christians find employment. Also Christian Employers sought their expertise to find staff which led to a partnership with Lindsay Robinson (a Christian IT Graduate) and the development of 'Christian Jobs Australia' (www.christianjobs.com.au).
