In 1963, Interscience Research and Engineering was founded by R Scott Grybek to provide consulting services to a variety of clients in materials failure, chemical specialties formulation and testing, institutional and food plant sanitation, and insurance loss investigation. In 1972, the company was reorganized as "Interscience, Inc." with an emphasis on loss investigation and failure analysis. In 1990, Interscience, Inc. became an employee owned company.
