Seniors Working with Seniors
Robbie Smith and Ann Donovan decided to start this business during a sad time in their lives. They were caring for a mutual friend who was suffering from cancer. After her death they felt a need to continue to help people who were facing life-changing situations. They started this business to help seniors and their families who are faced with the stress and emotional issues of moving. They saw a need for their service due to the growth of the senior population and the commitments that families have to balance every day of their lives.
Robbie retired in 2002 from a fulfilling administrative career in cancer research. While there she coordinated a large program where bulk pharmaceutical drugs were produced for clinical trial in cancer patients. Robbie is an active member of the First Baptist Church where she serves as Chancel Choir president and sings with the choir every Sunday. She is also known as the "General" in the church kitchen where she organizes and serves a meal each Wednesday night, along with great volunteers, such as her partner, Ann. She has been a volunteer in the Frederick Memorial Hospital Emergency Room. Robbie has a passion for coordinating and organizing and loves to help people. She has raised a son and daughter and has three grandchildren.
Ann moved from the Hudson Valley in New York to Frederick, Maryland in 1999. In her past life she has worked for American Airlines, The Dime Savings Bank and as an office manager for a marketing company. Ann has done volunteer work for several organizations while living in New York. Ann is proud to say she has raised five daughters and has nine grandchildren. Ann's passion is serving others living a balanced life.
