- Thanks for your interest in "The Injured Runner"! My name is Bryan Whitesides. I am a runner and a physical therapist. I was actually headed for a career in engineering when I had my first exposure to therapy. I was running competitively in college and strained my calf. Since I had access to the training room, I got some help and was back on my way sooner than usual. A career based on helping people get back to what they like doing appealed to me, so I made the switch. I must admit, not having to take as much chemistry also tipped the scale.
