Description
The Expertise Centre on Informal Care (EIZ) was set up in 2001 to gather and disseminate expertise in the field of informal care. The centre is dedicated to support professional workers and volunteers in their work with carers. It aims to facilitate innovation and change, has a keen eye for new policy developments, and aspires to be responsive to needs from within society. The EIZ strives to improve knowledge of informal care amongst government officials, professional care providers, health insurers and researchers.
The EIZ is funded by the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sports, as a result of explicit national policy to advance informal care. Four key-players in the field of informal care have joined their efforts by collaborating in the Centre:
