- Infoteach is a new, international, online community of practice for librarians and information workers who teach.Developed as part of a National Teaching Fellowship project it seeks to provide a dynamic information base for practitioners, qualified in teaching or not, in the issues inherent in teaching in our context.Infoteach believes that teaching and learning is a core part of our professional identity and that we should not only recognise this but take active steps to include it in our professional development. Although many of us have teaching qualifications, and are actively engaged in developing teaching skills, we believe that the nature of the teaching in which we engage is distinctive enough to warrant investigation and discussion in its own right. At the core of the project is this Wiki information base enabling the community to contribute and to 'own' the resource. This will bring together best practice, pedagogy, learning objects and case studies on issues like learner motivation, delivery methods, assessment and evaluation in our context. However, the agenda and therefore the content will mainly be set by you. Anyone who teaches should be able to contribute so please use this as a dynamic tool and make your contribution. Please contact Chris Powis (chris.powis@northampton.ac.uk)if you would like to talk about the rationale and development of Infoteach.
