Description

We, the farmers Elizabeth Keen and Al Thorp, have been growing at Indian Line Farm since 1997 when we first leased the land. In 1999 we formally purchased the farm using a unique partnership model with the Community Land Trust in the Southern Berkshires and The Nature Conservancy. Now we operate the farm with the help of dedicated apprentices who work full time with us throughout the season. In addition we have members who help us accomplish the work through our Working Share option.

Indian Line Farm is a 17 acre farm located in South Egremont, Massachusetts. We grow over 60 varieties of vegetables, fruits, and herbs as well as a variety of beautiful cutting flowers. In addition we have laying hens that provide eggs as well as one or two steers.

Primarily we grow food for our members who purchase shares in our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). We provide an abundant supply of vegetables, fruits and herbs ( June - November). In addition we sell our produce at the Great Barrington Farmers’ Market on Saturday mornings between 9 am and 1 pm, May though October; occasionally sell to nearby restaurants and stores; and we produce vegetable and annual flower seedlings to sell at the Berkshire Botanical Garden annual Mother’s Day Weekend Plant Sale.
