Description
The Individual Travellers Company is a specialist tour operator which has now been in business for 29 years. From humble beginnings in 1976, when it was literally 'a cottage industry' managed from the founder's living room, the Company has gone from strength to strength and now employs 40 staff.
Following the success of our French programme, "Individual France", 11 years later our Italian programme, "Individual Italy", was born. There was then a natural progression into Spain in 1991 with the creation of "Individual Spain"; a somewhat more audacious move into New England in 1993 with the conception of "Individual New England", and then to Portugal in 1998 with the arrival of "Individual Portugal".
All five of our programmes were started ‘from scratch’, with the careful selection of cottages, villas, farmhouses and manor houses which we consider to be in ideal locations for a holiday, whilst providing the comfort one would hope to enjoy when away from home. All of our properties are carefully inspected before acceptance into our programmes and we reject far more properties than we accept. Subsequent inspections ensure that standards are maintained and we are in regular contact with property owners to ensure that they continue to meet requirements.
