- Currently, the global economy is reeling under the unwanted pressure of economic slowdown. An economy which grows over a period of time tends to slowdown the growth as a part of the normal economic cycle. An economy typically expands for 6-10 years and has a tendency to go into a recession for about six months to two years. It is a phase of cyclical change in overall business activity, wherein there is low consumer demand, piling up of inventories, investment is low, lay offs are common and in general there is prevalence of a pessimistic attitude.
