- Image Radio. Interactive Experiments in Public Space. Public event in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. Presenting artists who work with new and interactive media. Image Radio presents a series of interactive new media installations that investigate the phenomenon of 'Urban Screens': How do moving images in public space function beyond commercial aspects? By 'image' we not only mean projections or large format display devices, but also PDAs, mobile phones, laptops, and navigation devices, as well as screens in shops, buses, cars etc. Exploration in this new medium often produces unexpected and sometimes meaningful results. Based on this insight, MAD seeks for Image Radio international artists whose work directly addresses the 'Urban Screens' concept. Experimentation and interaction are crucial. Exhibited artworks include video art, new media, interactive art, and more. Image Radio shows in several locations around the Stationsplein and Victoriakwartier, with the Piazza as the central point. All locations are free and open to the public. Also symposium about new media in public space. Image Radio is an initiative of MAD emergent art center: a laboratory and resource for art, science and technology.
