Situated in the Historic Town of Ilchester, the Ilchester Arms Hotel is a charming building full of character and offers the perfect setting to eat, drink and relax.
First licensed in 1686 when the hotel was originally known as the The George tavern and The Swan that shared the same site and was the favourite haunt of Llewellyn Powys, the writer (1884 - 1939).
In 1894 The George became a drapers shop run by Eli Wilson & Son until 1925 when a fire destroyed drapery stock and shop fittings. The Company may still be found trading today in Yeovil.
