Who We Are…
The Ice-Lantics Synchronized Skating Team, a non-profit organization, was established in the spring of 1996 with 12 skaters to become one of the premier teams in the United States. Our highly competitive team, which has represented the East Coast nationally in four United States Figure Skating Association championships, is affiliated with the Garden State Skating Club and calls the Wall Sports Arena in Farmingdale, N.J., home. The team has represented New Jersey in locations from Canada to Alabama.
Synchronized skating, a fast-paced, high-speed sport in which skaters weave intricate footwork, daring moves and choreographed maneuvers set to music, is judged on accuracy, synchronization, fluency and agility.
The Ice-Lantics program has been building on a legacy begun by the Intermediate level team which qualified as a finalist – as one of the top four teams – in past Eastern Regional Synchronized Skating Championships. The Ice-Lantics success at the regional level has qualified the skaters to compete at the National Synchronized Skating Championships. Our program now includes four competitive teams and an exhibition team for beginners. Skaters have made significant athletic and competitive strides while maintaining academic excellence, fund-raising for the team and committing to practices at odd hours throughout the week due to limited availability of ice time and narrow finances.
