- Simon has been in the security industry for close to 15 years. He owns Oram Security Consultants and is the former Director of Security of Amaranth LLC. Simon was born in England. After moving to the US he started his training at the elite Norwich military Acadamy, the oldest military school in the country. He joined the USMC and was recruited as a Scout Sniper. Becoming a Sniper was a testament to his leadership and intestinal fortitude. To become the best of the best of an allready elite bunch of warriors, the infantry of the United States Marine Corps is a great achievement. His military career consists of 1 tour in Iraq, high shooter during Scout/Sniper school, Survival, Evasion Resistance and Escape(Sere/Code of Conduct) School, Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, Mountainous Sniper Course and Infantry School. He was deployed to Lithuania in 1998 as an instructor for a Counter Sniper course. In Arizona under Joint Task Force Six or JTF-6 he did counter narcotics work by working with Local, State and Federal Law Enforcement Agencies. On the civilian side of the house he is a CPO (Certified Protection Officer) an NRA pistol and rifle instructor, First Aid, AED and Security Agent Instructor. He will soon be training law enforcement agencies. Simon is certified in Homeland Security Level 3 from the American College of Forensic Examiners of Forensic Science (ACFEI). He is also certified as a lead instructor in Attack Awareness, CQB (close quarter combat), Legal and Phycological survival, as well as designing realistic simunition scenarios for your home, school or business. Simon is scheduled to attend a Sere simulation course in order to prepare executives for potentially dangerous overseas business trips. An example of Simons cool under pressure demeanor was demonstrated recently. In Sept. 06 one of the worlds largest and most succsessful hedge funds Amaranth LLC, located in Greenwich Ct. (once valued at over 8 billion dollars) lost the most money in business hedge fund history. In a two week period it imploded and lost 6.6 billion dollars. As director of security Simon made sure things ran the right way until the company eventually shut its doors in early 2007. When one is trained in Industrial Espionage and Asset Protection there is much more involved then just simply "guarding employees".
