iDesign Studios originated in the US Virgin Islands in 1994 when it was first known as Innovative Designs. Originally intended as a creative outlet for it's owner, Selene Bowlby (at the time still
Selene's lifelong interest in art, combined with exposure to computers at a very early age has led to her love for computer aided design - specifically web design. Innovative Designs helped to foster these interests, serving as a display area for her artwork (at the time, mostly print design, including fine arts as well as graphic design). It also marked the beginning of her passion for web design, serving as a learning ground for the (then new) technology called the Internet.
After five years and a move to Florida, Innovative Designs became known as selenedesign.com. Still a solo project at this point, selenedesign.com changed direction from print to the web when Selene realized her true calling was interactive design - design for the screen as opposed design for paper.
