The Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN) was established by the Act of Parliament of Nigeria in 1965 to regulate the practice of Accountancy profession in Nigeria. To date the Institute has produced over 26,000 Accountants serving the diverse needs of Nigeria's economy, from a modest number of 250 in 1965. ICAN is an active member of IFAC and a member of other international Accounting bodies.
