Hypertrichosis is the term used to describe abnormal amounts of hair growth on the body. Very severe cases at one time were referred to as the werewolf syndrome. Hypertrichosis is divided into two types of conditions and can be seen at the time of birth or can be seen later in life. In most cases, the excess hair growth is seen in various places over the body including and not reserved to the normal areas that hair grows.
