Description
Prior to the start of the 2000-2001 season, Head Coach Geno Auriemma pledged to donate $10 for every three-point shot by his players made during that season to the American Cancer Society.
Sparked by his generosity, Huskymaniacs vs. Cancer is a group of UConn Basketball fans who have banded together to support the fight against cancer. Each season fans generously pledge either a one time donation or a specific amount for every three-point shot made by either the women's team, the men's team, or both teams during regular and post season games.
At the end of each season, all the money collected is given to the American Cancer Society'sCoaches vs. Cancer program in the name of Huskymaniacs vs. Cancer.
