The Ancient County of Huntingdonshire is currently a District of Cambridgeshire administered by Huntingdonshire District Council from their office in Huntingdon, the county town. Even the British Government knew better than to remove the "shire" from the name Huntingdonshire so even they acknowledge it's right to be a County. Those who live in the County of Huntingdonshire today don't consider themselves to be part of Cambridgeshire and very likely in the next boundary reshuffle, or Act of Devolution of power to local level, Huntingdonshire will again become a County.
