Description
Dr. Michael Messana was born in Brooklyn, and raised in Staten Island. He went to public primary and intermediate schools, then attended Monsignor Farrell High School. On graduation he won the school's physical fitness, and social studies awards. After High School he set out for Fairleigh Dickinson University's six-year Accelerated Dental Program. While at Fairleigh Dickinson he became President of the Tri-Beta Biological Society and President of the Pre-Professional Society. He made Dean's List and Who's Who in American Colleges for 1987. He graduated with a Bachelor's Science in Biology, Summa Cum Laude. After college he attended Fairleigh S. Dickinson Jr. College of Dental Medicine 1987-1989 where he was elected to represent the school to the American Student Dental Association. Upon closure of F.D.U. College of Dental Medicine he transferred to the University of Medicine and Dentistry where he graduated with a Doctor of Medical Dentistry Degree in May 1991. Upon graduation Dr. Messana was inducted into the distinguished Omega Kappa Upsilon Honors Society. Following Dental School the doctor attended New York University's Post Graduate Program in Orthodontics. He was elected Class President during his last year in the program, and received his Certificate in Orthodontics in July 1993 Dr. Messana stayed in New York to attend Bellevue Hospital's one year Orthognathic Fellowship for orthodontists. Responsibilities centered around the treatment of patients with cranio-facial anomalies, who were undergoing orthodontics followed by orthognathic (Jaw) surgery. He received Certificate of Fellowship July 1994. He is currently a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, and the New Jersey Dental Association. He is Past President of the Hudson County Dental Society, and serves on the Board of Trustees of the New Jersey Dental Association.
Dr. Bernadetta Messana was born and raised in Tarnov, Poland. She emigrated from Poland in 1983 and settled in Garfield, NJ. Upon graduating Garfield High School she attended Fairleigh Dickinson University, made Dean's List and after three years received a Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Magna Cum Laude. After college she entered Fairleigh S. Dickinson Jr. College of Dental Medicine, she became Class President in her third year, and transferred to the University of Medicine and Dentistry. She received her Doctor of Medical Dentistry Degree in May of 1991. She is currently a member of the American Dental Association, the New Jersey Dental Association, and the Hudson County Dental Society.
