Travel Fitness
When we enter an airport, we are are always trying to find more junk food items. In order to avoid and care about our nutrition goals we need to stick to some rules. If we prioritize our health, we can find better foods and we can also maintain our bodies. People often think that travelling makes a person fat but actually its our 'bad habits' that are the culprits. If we change our habits and follow instructions according to the nutritionists diet plan, we can always travel with out gaining weight. A person who travels regularly needs a proper diet plan.
High-Carb food include bread, pasta, rice, products including sugar, flour, cold cereals, potatoes, chips, pretzels, sweetened yogurt, cookies, cake, pastries, candy, granola, sugar, sweetened beverages. which are the main causes of increased blood insulin levels. The function of the Insulin hormone is to signal the body to store fat. So the studies show that if the hormone level is cut down, there is a remarkable change in fat loss. So, choosing a low carb diet for almost 6 weeks can reduce fat by 7 pounds which in turn lowers the risk of heart disease as well. Lower-Carb foods include Beef, poultry, seafood, vegetables (except potatoes), fruit, nuts, eggs, cheese, milk, plain yogurt, water, low-carb protein bars and shakes, unsweetened coffee and tea, diet soda.
Some interesting ways to reduce fat:
- When you are at dinner and you are ordering appetizer, eat it instead of bread and eat steak and chicken or fish with vegetable.
- Instead of cold meals and pastries, you can look forward to home cooked breakfast like Omelette. Consider going to bedandbreakfast.com, where you can access plenty of low carb foods.
- When you are at a major hotel, you can always stock your mini-fridge for a stock for a diabetic. Avoid high sugar junk foods and try to select for milk, vegetables, diet soda and fruit.
- Always keep your laptop away from bed. As, men average 2 to 3 fewer hours of sleep when they are traveling for business. This disturbance decreases the levels of leptin (a hormone that delivers feelings of excessiveness or satiety), and increases levels of ghrelin (a hormone that promotes hunger), due to the net effect, that the appetite increases.
- There is a recent study that if you dine with a stranger rather eating with friends, you eat less.
- If you are with you colleagues try to eat and select healthy food items and do not eat on their choice of interest,in this way you can be a trend setter in promoting a good and healthy diet.
- Use protein bars with caution because energy bars are made for athletes and contain a high amount of calories.(having 160 calories, 14 grams of protein, and just 1 g sugar).
