- Founded in 1989, The Hooked on Swing Society of Western Massachusetts (HOSS) is a non-profit organization run by a small, dedicated group of volunteers. HOSS's mission statement is "to encourage the teaching, preservation, promotion and enjoyment of swing dancing as a noteworthy American form of art and recreation." The committee produces a monthly swing dance September through June, oftentimes with the addition of afternoon workshops. No partner or experience is required at our dances, with the intent of bringing people of all ages and backgrounds together and enriching our area with the American folkdance of swing.
