Counselling and Therapy - My Aims
My aim in counselling and therapy is to help you increase your level of self-awareness so that, as a result, you can make the changes you want in your life.
Change will mean different things to people. For me change has meant a growing sense of inner balance, and a greater trust in my own ideas and feelings. Over the years I have also dropped a lot of anxiety in my relationships with others and become more relaxed and open. Other indicators of growth for me are: being aware of my feelings, my ability to respond appropriately in awkward situations by communicating fully, and being able to let go of suffering and other negative feelings when the stimulus is removed, as opposed to dwelling on it for weeks afterwards.
I aim to help you to achieve the changes you would like by offering a special relationship where my attention and focus is fully on you. I strive to be genuine and honest and empathic in my relationship with you, and to keep the atmosphere calm and safe. It is this kind of situation that is the seed-bed for growth, change and moving on.
