Description
When the United Church of Christ was organized in 1957, churches and ministers of the Hudson River Association of the Congregational Christian Churches and the clergy and churches of the New York Synod of the Evangelical and Reformed Church within the boundaries of the Association were brought together in the Hudson Mohawk Association of the United Church of Christ.
Those Congregational and Christian churches that did not join the merger, were continued in membership of the association until such time as they either joined the United Church of Christ, or withdrew from the Association.
The Hudson Mohawk Association presently consists of nineteen member churches, located in the valleys of the Hudson River and the Mohawk River, and Ministers who hold membership in Association churches and who are authorized by the Association for ministry on the basis of their educational qualifications and their callings to ministry.
