Hitchcock Press had its beginning in Holyoke, Massachusetts over one hundred years ago when the Wisly Company was founded. The Wisly Company and its affiliate the Axtell Company were well known letterpress printers. Most of their business was in the Holyoke area; much of it with the many thriving paper mills that lined the Paper City's canal system at the time.
