Description

HistoryQuest 's primary goal is to preserve and protect historic properties. In restoring over $4M in historic homes, we have revitalized neighborhoods, added value to communities, and saved important historic landmarks from decay and demolition. HistoryQuest's secondary goal is to raise public awareness of America's tens of thousands of historic places by building the web's most comprehensive historic site directory. The Historic Places Project was recently named 'Best of the Web' by American Heritage.

John Brady, President - Prior to launching HistoryQuest, Brady served as a Sales Director for Intuit, Inc. In this role, he launched the institutional channel for Quicken.com and TurboTax, helping increase revenues to over $75M by working with senior management at the top 50 banking and brokerage institutions. At Intuit, Brady led a team that developed innovative marketing partnerships for new account acquisition and branding. He has also held sales and marketing positions at leading media companies including Forbes.com and American Lawyer Media, leveraging his knowledge of new media and technology. He received a B.A. in history from Trinity College.

Michael Yamashita - Yamashita has been a regular contributing photographer to the National Geographic since 1979 and has worked in such diverse locations as Somalia and Sudan, England and Ireland, New Guinea and New Jersey. Although he has traveled to six continents, Asia is his special area of concentration. Yamashita's books include The Mekong: A Journey on the Mother of Waters (Takarajima Books), which stemmed from a dream assignment for the Geographic -- tracing the Mekong from its sacred source in China down to the South China Sea. He also collaborated with his wife, writer Elizabeth Bibb, on the book, In the Japanese Garden (Starwood), which received the American Booksellers Association Benjamin Franklin award. He has received a number of professional awards, including the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA) Pictures of the Year Competition and the New York Art Director's Club. His work has been displayed at the National Gallery of Art, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and Kodak's Professional Photographer's Showcase at Epcot Center in Orlando. At home in rural New Jersey, he spends his spare time as a volunteer fireman. He received his B.A. from Wesleyan University.
