Hilton Googe Design Group began designing homes in 1966, after working with an architect & later serving as a construction superintendent for a local builder. He held various positions with the Charleston Trident Homebuilders Association from 1973 until serving as their president in 1988. He also served 9 years on the National NAHB Board as a representative from South Carolina. It was that experience and working with a variety of builders that lead him to begin designing his houses with modular lumber lengths. This has continued into all of the plans represented in this book.

Our knowledge of the building & design field has assisted in the development of plan standards that exceeds building codes as well as the desire to reduce the construction price per square feet.
